Press Releases & Earned Media

Media relations became a fun passion for me during my tenure at The Chamber. I spent years building meaningful relationships with reporters and news directors (thanks in part to years as a college intern at the local newspaper observing how exactly a newsroom operates) across both print outlets, radio and TV stations, community magazines, and eventually podcasts and local influencers. I learned hands-on how to craft a pitch that gains interest, leading to the most earned media coverage the organization had seen. Once interview requests became more frequent than our president had availability for, I formulated a media training program for other key staff members to serve as spokespeople for their respective events, programs, committees and initiatives.
